Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT and KISA to hold 'AI Cyber Defense Contest (ACDC)' in December; preliminary registration open until the 26th (report)

Announced October 10, 2026

What happened

Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) are recruiting participants until the 26th for the preliminary round of the '2026 AI Cyber Defense Contest (ACDC),' to be held in December. The contest covers three areas: using AI for security (AI for Security), securing AI safety (Security for AI), and AI platform security (AI Platform Security). The preliminary round is run in isolated cloud environments for each participant, in Capture the Flag (CTF) and King of the Hill formats. The contest was first held last year, making this its second edition.

Why it matters

After AI hacking incidents in the financial sector, training AI attack and defense talent has become a policy priority. The contest serves as a government-level channel for finding such talent.
