AWS outlines three ways to train Qwen3 on Trainium with torchtitan
Announced October 22, 2026
Verified (fact)
AWS laid out three ways to train Qwen3 with torchtitan on a single trn2.48xlarge instance. The paths use the Hugging Face Transformers v5 modeling backend, torchtitan's native Qwen3 implementation, or NKI MoE kernels. All three share the same torchrun launcher and configuration structure, and they read and save Hugging Face safetensors directly.
Why it matters (interpretation)
Together with TorchTPU, it is part of the race to bring the PyTorch ecosystem onto in-house chips.
