GitHub makes 'AI Scan for pull requests', which finds vulnerabilities in PR changes, generally available
Announced October 15, 2026
Verified (fact)
GitHub has made its code scanning feature 'AI Scan for pull requests' generally available. It complements CodeQL by detecting vulnerabilities in pull request changes for languages and frameworks that CodeQL does not yet support.
Why it matters (interpretation)
Combined with Agentic autofix (automatic alert fixing), which also became generally available the same day, GitHub now offers an AI-driven workflow for finding and fixing vulnerabilities as standard features. Organizations using languages CodeQL could not cover can expand the scope of their security checks.
