Astrocade, where users swipe through prompt-made games like short-form videos, passes 10 million MAU (reported)
What happened
Monthly active users of Astrocade, an AI-based platform for making and sharing games, have passed 10 million, double the roughly 5 million of four months earlier. Users scroll a vertical feed to play games without installing anything and can make their own games with text prompts. The report said Google, Unity and others are also entering the market.
Why it matters
Generative AI is making it easier to start making games, and short-form competition is spreading from video to interactive content.
