Intellivix to lead ₩6.2B Korean defense R&D project for an 'AI sentry' guarding frontline GOPs in bad weather (report)

Announced October 8, 2026

What happened

Intellivix was selected as lead organization for a 'defense innovation company R&D project' by Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration and has begun developing a defense AI video surveillance platform with total research funding of ₩6.2 billion. Together with UNIST and Sungkyunkwan University, it will develop technology that detects objects and alerts to signs of danger even in low-visibility conditions such as snow, rain, fog, and night.

Why it matters

It is a case of adverse-weather video recognition being applied to actual military surveillance, and reflects Korea's defense AI procurement trend.
