CoreWeave in talks with Korean data center operators, aiming to expand from GPU supply into inference (report)

Announced October 9, 2026

What happened

According to ZDNet Korea, CoreWeave is keeping open the option of entering Korea's data center business and is in talks with several Korean operators. The investment size, location, and partner companies have not been disclosed. The company aims to expand beyond supplying high-performance GPUs into AI inference, and it ran its own branded booth for the first time at 'AI Festa 26' (Oct 6–8, COEX, Seoul). It previously announced that it had secured data centers in Indonesia (360MW total) and Navi Mumbai, India (240MW, with Vera Rubin planned).

Why it matters

A global GPU cloud company has started targeting the Korean market as part of a broader expansion into Asia. This could affect competition among AI data centers in Korea and the options available for sourcing inference infrastructure. No concrete contracts have been announced yet.
