KT Cloud joins 50MW AI data center in Cheongna, Incheon as design, build and operate partner (report)

What happened
KT Cloud will be the design-build-operate (DBO) partner for a 50MW AI data center (AIDC) in Cheongna, Incheon, South Korea. The building will have two basement floors and 11 floors above ground. Construction is set to start in Q4 this year, with completion targeted for Q1 2030. KT Cloud said that with this site added, it aims to secure more than 1GW of supply capacity by 2031.
Why it matters
A telecom-affiliated cloud provider is adding capacity as competition to supply AI data centers in the Seoul metropolitan area heats up.
