IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva called AI investment a new driver of global economic growth in a speech in Singapore on the 7th, ahead of the Annual Meetings. She also listed investment overheating, rising energy demand, labor market disruption, cybersecurity and financial market instability as risks. She said the world economy is being hit by two different shocks at the same time: an energy shock from the Middle East and expanding AI investment.
