BofA: ChatGPT had 664M mobile DAUs in September and Gemini 151M, but Gemini is growing faster (report)

What happened

Bank of America published these figures, citing Sensor Tower data. ChatGPT had 664 million mobile daily active users (DAUs) in September, up 69% year over year and 7% month over month. Gemini had 151 million mobile DAUs. The report said rival services such as Gemini and Meta AI are growing much faster than ChatGPT.

Why it matters

ChatGPT remains far ahead on scale, but growth rates suggest the consumer AI market is becoming more competitive.
