OpenAI launches Decisions API on decision model gpt-6-luna: $0.10 per 1M input tokens, output free (community report)
What happened
According to Simon Willison, OpenAI has launched the 'Decisions API' it previewed at DevDay last week. The API works the same way as Jev and uses the decision model gpt-6-luna. The model accepts image input as well as text. Only input is billed and output is free, at $0.10 per 1 million input tokens (Jev is $0.042). Willison released an LLM plugin for the API, 'llm-openai-decisions 0.1a0'.
Why it matters
A major provider now also offers a low-cost dedicated API for short decision tasks such as classification and judgment. This could change cost structures and provider choices for moderation, routing and policy-judgment pipelines.
