Anthropic launches public beta of Claude for Google Workspace, usable directly in Docs, Sheets and Slides (report)

What happened
According to AI Times, Anthropic released 'Claude for Google Workspace' as a public beta on all paid Claude plans on the 6th (local time). Users can call up Claude inside Google Docs, Sheets and Slides to read and edit the file that is open. Users can also now create and edit Google files from the Claude chat window.
Why it matters
After Microsoft 365, Google Workspace now also lets a third-party model work directly inside documents. This signals that competition to be the AI assistant inside enterprise office tools is heating up.
